Description

This is a true pocket computing device. It was the worlds first alphanumeric calculator. This allowed you to create programs that you could simply call by entering the program name, instead of having to remember under which number-label or key you stored the program.

The 41C comes with 4 expansion slots which can be used to connect RAM-packs, printers, magnetic card readers, etc. A magnetic card reader can be attached to the top, using one expansion port and blocking two more. The leather carrying bag that came with the device is actually large enough to hold the calculator with the magnetic card reader attached.

The memory of only 441 bytes isn't really large, but the 41C uses fully merged keystroke programming, making it a very efficient calculator to program.

It is mentioned that the 41C can be used with an extenal power adapter, but my example does not have any connectors to plug one in. There may have been different variant around.

Check www.hp41.org for lots of info about the HP-41.
